Breakfast is served in the spacious breakfast room.
Our aim is to exceed your expectations. We love food and enjoy listening to the
wonderful comments in the dining room when breakfast is served.
Our menu varies with an emphasis on home cooking. Jane is an enthusiastic cook
and likes to make home made dishes where possible including yogurt, pancakes, waffles,
smoked fish stuffed peaches etc. We rely on Kate, Jane's mum, to come up with the fresh
jams and marmalade!
We start with a selection of cold choices, to which you help yourself. There are
cereals, home made muesli, fresh fruit (melon, grapes, kiwi, peaches, nectarines etc) with
Blairgowrie raspberries and strawberries when in season, orange juice, home made yogurt (to
Jane's secret recipe) and a variety of nuts, seeds and dried fruit.
We serve a selection of speciality coffees and teas (assam, earl and lady grey, fruit
and herbal infusions).
Vegetarians are very welcome, as you will see many of our choices are either vegetarian
or can be adapted very easily.
For the main breakfast we always offer either a traditional Scottish breakfast or an
alternative 'special' that changes daily. This is always home made. Typical examples
are as follows:
Traditional Scottish Breakfast
Eggs (cooked as you like them), grilled bacon, oven baked sausages,
tomatoes, black pudding, mushrooms, haggis.
Something Different: We will offer one of the following as an
alternative:
Home made pancakes, muffins or waffles with either bacon and maple syrup, fresh pear with
cinnamon sugar and cream or fresh raspberries and cream.
Home-made French Toast - with cinnamon sugar and/or sliced banana, with or without bacon.
Savoury Fritata - vegetarian savoury pan omelette tart - served in generous wedges with
a crusty bread or croissant.
Omelettes - lots of filling options, whatever you like.
Fresh Fruit and Cheese Platter.
Smokies in a Pot - delicious fine smoked fish, oven baked with cream and
cheese.
Whatever your choice, we're sure that you'll enjoy it.
